SEED is a Japanese contact lens manufacturer founded in 1957. We began our contact lens research in 1951 and have been supplying contact lenses, lens care products, and spectacles in Japan for more than half a century. We are dedicated to providing safe and comfortable contact lenses for every individual.

Besides Japan, we have operations in China, Mongolia, Vietnam, and Belgium. In Southeast Asia, we are entering the Singapore market in 2013, followed by Malaysia and Indonesia in 2014.

I am Sato, the newly appointed President and CEO of SEED Co. Ltd.

With domestic sales beginning to gain traction, I plan to enhance our production capacity at the Konosu Research Institute and expand sales aggressively overseas. While we set a foundation for 50 billion yen in sales in our medium-term plan (April 2024 to March 2027), I acknowledge we have not met expectations for the first year.

At its core, SEED is a manufacturer. I am prioritizing strengthening our manufacturing capabilities to ensure high-quality, high-value-added products are supplied consistently. Simultaneously, I am building a structure that responds swiftly and flexibly to market shifts. I am confident these measures will lead us to our targets by the third year..

I believe contact lenses have vast potential to contribute to medical care through new functions. We will work together as a whole to increase our market presence and contribute to the evolution of the industry.

High-Performance and Eco-Friendly Facility

All the manufacturing processes of SEED Pure Series are strictly managed at SEED Kounosu laboratory. Great care is taken in producing each pair of SEED contact lens at the manufacturing plant in order to ensure the utmost safety of human eyes. SEED takes its environmental responsibility seriously and ensures its facilities are eco-friendly.

Energy Efficiency Utilization

SEED uses one of the nation's largest steam accumulators to supply steam, which is essential for the autoclave sterilization of contact lenses, in a stable and economical way. We have set up solar panels on the rooftop to make use of renewable energy and implemented the FEMS system to monitor electricity usage.

Large Reduction of Water Consumption

Large amounts of pure water are used during the manufacturing process. To utilise discharged water, we have built a water recycling system for large-scale conservation. Additionally, we recycle plastics emitted from manufacturing processes to support global environmental conservation.

High Standard of Inspection and Quality Management

We ship only products that pass strict quality management and thorough inspection. Using two-dimensional codes and ID tags, we implemented an integrated management system for production and distribution, allowing every lens to be fully traced.

ISO 13485 System Certification

In addition to our own strict standards, we have obtained the certification of ISO13485, the international standard for medical devices. This has further strengthened our global quality control system for all products manufactured in Japan.
